Everyday Heroes

This half term Green class are looking at ‘Everyday Heroes’. We will be focusing on our local community and those that help us in our everyday lives.
We would love to invite you into school to talk to our children about your profession/role in our community, at a time that would be convenient, to give children the opportunity to ask questions to acquire knowledge about the various roles and responsibilities in our community and how they all help us. It doesn’t have to stop there, we would also love to welcome Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, family members if you know of anyone who would like to pay us a visit. We aim to celebrate diversity in the world of work and how all roles are equally as important.
If you would be interested in coming in to speak to us then please drop us an email or pop in and speak to a member of staff.

Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check

Preparing for the Multiplication Tables Check 2023 | CGP Plus

Year 4 will all take the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) on Tuesday 11th June. We hope that your child has continued to learn their tables. Every Friday, there are tables checks done in class. Some of the tables check practice activities have been set up on Ed Shed so please encourage your child to access these.

Children can also access a practice on Times Tables Rock Stars. Your child will need to access their account through the web browser and not through an app. Children will be shown this in class along with accessing the Soundcheck games.

Shropshire Star

Dear Parents and Carers,

This is a polite reminder that a photographer from the ‘Shropshire Star’ newspaper will be joining us to capture the children’s ‘TEACHREX’ experience on Monday 18th March 2024. Photographs will be included as part of a feature in the newspaper.

Please be rest assured that children who do not have consent to appear on the school website will respectfully not be included in any of the photographer’s photographs and therefore, will not feature in the newspaper.

Please could we ask that you speak to a member of staff if you DO NOT wish for your child to be included in any individual/small group/large group photograph that could potentially be used as part of the feature in the newspaper. Otherwise, it will be assumed that you give your full consent for your child to have their photograph taken and to appear in the newspaper.

We are sure that a number of photographs will be taken throughout the morning, so we will not know ourselves which photos will be ultimately be selected to appear in the newspaper and which children will feature.

Many thanks for your continued support

Laura Aguayo

Thank you

Thank you all for making my time at Claverley so wonderful.

I was quite overwhelmed by my beautiful cards, gift and messages on my last day at Claverley. Children, staff, parents and governors were so kind, supportive and generous.

I know the children in Blue class will continue to flourish and I am very confident that I will hear wonderful things about them from my friends at Claverley.

Blue Class – take care of Mrs Benson, Mrs Colin Stokes, Mrs Wade and Mrs Richardson. I know they will work hard and look after you brilliantly. Aim high and achieve your best as always. Keep encouraging and supporting each other.

Mini Compost Bins

The children in Red Class had a great afternoon making mini compost bins in Science. They were looking at the structure and formation of soil. They particularly liked looking for worms to add to our mini compost bins!

Materials needed for Science

In Science this half term we are looking at Rocks. As part of this topic, we will also be looking at soil formation. Next Tuesday, we will be making mini compost bins in small groups. We would be very grateful if anyone has any spare empty 2 litre pop bottles, shredded paper and any fruit and vegetable scraps (please no nuts or anything that has come into contact with nuts). If you can help with any of these things please could they be brought into school by next Tuesday. The fruit and vegetable scraps can be brought in on Tuesday. Thank you so much for your help!

Bookfest 2024

Today we introduced the books for the Bookfest to Red Class and all of the children were so excited to get started! We have chosen a mixture of different books for the children to read, some are shorter than others and some of the books may require an adult to help the children to read them. The children have chosen their first book and should have taken it home with them. As soon as they have finished reading their book, they can bring it back into school and choose another. It would be lovely for them to try and read as many of the books as possible. We hope that they will enjoy taking part in the Bookfest this year!
